My therapeutic approach

Therapy is a safe space to show up as you are without worry about judgement; to be witnessed in pain and joy and all emotions in between. I believe that what you need is already within you, you may simply need the space and support to uncover your inner strengths. If you are experiencing grief of any type, my hope is to create an inviting space where we can work through the complexities and emotions that come with this experience. As a griever myself, I can utilize my own humanity and resilience to connect and inform our process when appropriate.

In our work together, I will help you to gain awareness of your inner voice, thoughts and emotions and use that insight to lead you towards your goals. I do this by reflecting on the past when needed, examining patterns and witnessing what you are going through in the present moment. I use a humanistic approach, which means I will help you fulfill your potential, to maximize your well-being and inspire change from within. I apply an eclectic variety of modalities to include mindfulness, CBT, DBT and ACT, as well as creative interventions and art. I am spiritually open and able to use your own faith or beliefs to support healing.

About me

I graduated with a Masters in Social Work from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. I moved to North County San Diego in 2015 and I have immersed myself in building community here. I began my career in social work working with juvenile justice involved youth and families. Before moving into private practice, I worked in a hospital based Intensive Outpatient Program with a diverse and vibrant group of folks, honing my skills for individual work.

Originally from Michigan, I grew up spending time in or around freshwater lakes and in nature. I am a lover of the outdoors, travel and art, and spending time with my people, and with my Westie Gabe.
